Brief CV - David Joyce

David Joyce is a graduate microbiologist (B.Sc[Hons], Liverpool University) with more than 35 years of consultancy, management and laboratory experience in the public (ADAS, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food) and private sectors. He is an independent consultant operating principally in the food, agriculture, catering and hotel industries. He is a registered environmental auditor, an authorised trainer for the Society of Food Hygiene Technology and a member of the Academy of Experts. He has published over 35 papers and articles.

Experience and expertise includes the quality and safety of food and animal feed; quality and environmental management systems including HACCP techniques; microbiology and laboratory management; facility audits; water quality; the bottled water industry; crisis prevention and management; waste minimisation and pollution prevention; odour assessment and control; waste treatment.

Work experience in the UK, Ireland, Iceland, France, Hungary, Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania, Lithuania, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Uganda, Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Benin, Mauritius, Pakistan, Thailand, and USA.
